A guitar play-through video that shows every detail
"78,000 views and counting, a guitar play-through video for Phil Short that puts every detail of his playing on show."

The Brief
Create a guitar play-through video for Eddie's Yard, inspired by the energy of Eddie Van Halen, with an 80s rock feel and a modern twist.
The key requirement was to keep the fretboard visible at all times, making the video as useful as it is engaging.

How Did We Do It?
Before filming, we worked with Phil to properly understand the track and what he wanted the final video to feel like.
From there, we developed a few concepts and storyboarded the video to shape the direction.
We chose an old brewery near Shoreditch as the filming location, which gave the video a strong, textured background.
On the day, we spent time setting everything up before filming multiple takes of each part of the track. This gave us flexibility in the edit, allowing us to combine the best performance with a range of camera angles.
The Results
The final video gives viewers a clear, technically useful play-through where the fretboard stays visible throughout, so it works as both a music video and a genuine practice/reference tool.
The video has racked up 78,000 views on YouTube (and counting!)
